I decided to use photos where there were also people in the background in order to convey the idea of people in the city who just walk past the mess of the city, not noticing.

Haikus on topic
Building up the filth
more and more and more and more
how we are naive.
(yes that one is another iteration of an earlier one)
Do we see the filth?
Or are we just as naive
as we are messy?
Ever more we see
what we do not want to see
so we choose to not.
more and more and more and more
how we are naive.

as we are messy?
Ever more we see
what we do not want to see

So while I was taking photos of what I found off about the city I took this photo
And after I took it I realised that graffiti is something which we had just been learning about in our Postproduction and Special Effects class, where we were meant to be glamourising it. So I kinda just had a moment of clarity where I thought to myself about how an idea about what doesn't look good is subjective and how just because I think of graffiti often as ruining the city, others don't see it that way.
I'm gonna have to make sure I keep my focus strictly on actually yuck bits of the city.

New directions
So I was looking around at the articles on unnoticed things and cities and all of that whatnot.... And I found an article called "Dear Dirty Dublin": A City in Distress"
This article was written by Joseph V. O'Brien, and has him discussing the filth and disgusting parts of the city of Dublin, which he finds other people do not seem to really think about. I found it interesting in the way in which he seemed to both glamourise it, quoting proverbs such as "where there's muck, there's luck" and yet also condemn it.
Here is a link to it's review by Eugen Weber.

Musings
I went out again on Friday night here are my favorite photos.
I'm looking for something more from this topic right now, nothing seems to be jumping out at me yet. I'm stuck trying to consider the unnoticed/undiscovered wonders of the city.
